The labor movement has lost a great friend and leader with the passing of Lynn Williams. Lynn was an organizer at heart. He will be best remembered for his firm and unwavering advocacy for Steelworkers and their families during some very difficult times in the industry. He was passionate about public policy issues that affect working people, and often testified in Congress on health and safety, trade, and other issues. Anybody who came in contact with Lynn couldn’t help but be impressed with his intelligence, his decency, his quiet passion, and his integrity. He was a humble man, but he was a giant in our movement. He will be deeply missed, and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
