As the North Carolina legislature reconvenes this week, hundreds of North Carolinians will gather at the second annual Pots and Spoons protest to loudly call attention to the failed stewardship of North Carolina under the current legislature and governor.
The pots and spoons protest, the second of its kind targeting North Carolina lawmakers, was inspired by cacerolazo, a form of popular protest in Latin America, where people use kitchen utensils brought from home to create noise and call for attention.
The event is part of the Moral Monday/ Forward Together movement.
Working America, the community affiliate of the AFL-CIO, has nearly 30,000 members in North Carolina.
